1 1/2 lb lean stewing beef
3 tbs oil or butter
1 pint water
6 oz canned tomato paste
3 tbs vinegar
salt to taste
1/2 tsp black pepper
2″ 2 sticks cinnamon
2 lb white small onions

Method:

Cube the meat and brown on all sides in hot oil or butter. Combine the water, tomato paste, vinegar, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling point and pour over the meat, add the cinnamon.

Cover and simmer until meat is tender.When it is half done,add onions. Cook until onions are a bit soft and a little gravy remains. Serve with bread slices or home made rotas.
